UNIT FOCUS
WRITE YOUR STORY.
Participants will explore the stages in the writing process, the six +1 traits of writing needed to write exceptionally well and learn how to create believable story characters, develop story settings and build their story plots, showing the conflict and resolution of the conflict while learning to illustrate the personalities, events and environment of their story, using digital tools.
DEVELOP VOICE OVER SKILLS.
Participants will get a lot of practice on reading aloud and repeating tongue-twisters to develop the sound of their voice for voice overs. They will learn how to build voice clarity and master the art of infusing rhythm into their speech, making sure their voices sound natural and not forced.
VOICE OVER YOUR STORY.
The feelings you get from listening to a story with a human voice can never be gotten with words on the pages of a book. The participants will be taken through the journey of voicing their stories. By adding voice overs to their stories, they can create a more intimate relationship with their readers/listeners.
CREATE YOUR AUDIOBOOK.
The participants will end the program with sessions of recording their voices and the voicing over of the stories they developed at the camp using the right equipment and devices available at home, thereby creating their audiobooks.
AUDIOBOOK PRODUCTION (Optional).
In addition, the production of the audio recordings of the books done by the children can be available at an extra charge of Fifteen Thousand Naira only (N15,000). This production will include professional editing of the original recording done by the participants with an infusion of sounds and sound effects to complete the proper production of the audio-book which the author can then go on to publish on appropriate e-book/audiobook platforms and start receiving earnings on such.
