Write-Your-Own-Storybook Class 2024

Write-Your-Own-Storybook Class is an online writing class for children who love to write and dream of becoming published authors.

The Write-Your-Own-Story Class, a mentor-inspired but self-paced class for pre-teens and teens, is held two times a week over a four-week period during the summer. It provides young writers with the essential elements of excellent story writing, enabling them to improve their writing skills, tell better stories, compose more vivid scenes, gain confidence in their writing abilities, and complete the first draft of their storybooks.

Enrolled students will be provided with loads of exciting writing prompts that pique their writing interests and get their creative juices flowing while providing them with helpful writing advice, techniques and feedback to help them go on an incredible creative journey to becoming exceptional writers and authors.

DURATION

10 classes in 5 Weeks – Tuesdays & Thursdays

Beginning Tuesday, 30th July – Thursday, 29th, August 2024.

Writing Exhibition – an online event

Friday, 30th August 2024.

CLASS TIMES (BST & WAT)

Teaching Session: 4 pm – 4:40 pm

Break: 4:40 pm – 4:50 pm

Writing Session 2: 4:50 pm – 5:40 pm

Plenary Session: 5:40 pm – 6:00 pm

DIGITAL LEARNING PLATFORMS

Live lessons are held on Google Meet.

Children are engaged on the Google Classroom E-learning platform for writing activities and offline activities.

Benefits:

(2) Two stages of assessment for your work.

(3) Completion of the draft of your short children’s story that can be immediately submitted for publication.

(4) End of programme certificate.

(5) A “Bespoke Road Map” detailing your next steps towards publication, including elements of your writing that require further improvement.

Programme Fee:

£50 per participant

Only twenty slots available. Registration into the class is strictly on a first come, first served basis.
