Position: Teaching Executive
Location: Jordan Hill Creative Writing & Reading Workshop, Lagos.
Type: Full-Time, Hybrid
Salary range: Between N120,000 and N150,000 monthly.

Job Overview
We are seeking highly motivated and dedicated Teaching Executives to join our team. As a Teaching Executive, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the growth and development of children through engaging and interactive learning experiences. Your responsibilities will encompass supporting students’ academic and personal growth, fostering a positive learning environment, and contributing to the organisation's educational mission.

Reporting and Collaboration
Report to the Programme Manager/Educational Director: Work closely with the Programme
Manager and Educational Director to implement effective teaching strategies and activities.
Team Contribution: Contribute to the overall ethos, aims, and collaborative efforts of the
organisation’s team.

Learning and Teaching Activities
Engage in Learning Activities: Conduct learning activities for individuals or groups of children, both in-person and online, ensuring a stimulating and productive educational experience.

Develop Learning Plans: Create tailored learning plans for physical classes during the week at schools and at our centre on Saturdays, addressing the specific needs of individual and group sessions.
Assist with Resources: Assist students in effectively utilising educational resources, including IT tools.
IT Integration: Promote the use of ICT in learning activities, enhancing students’ competence and independence in its application.

Student Support and Mentorship
Inspire and Mentor: Motivate and mentor children to participate in activities that enhance their reading, writing, and speaking skills.
Individualised Interaction: Establish constructive relationships with pupils, customising interactions according to their unique requirements.
Supervise and Support: Provide supervision and support, especially for students with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to educational activities.
Support Core Skills: Aid students in improving core skills and participate in individual education plans.
Maintain Motivation: Sustain pupils’ interest and motivation in the learning process.

Monitoring and Feedback
Progress Monitoring: Monitor and report on pupils’ progress, achievements, and challenges to the Educational Director.
Feedback and Records: Provide feedback to students on their progress and achievements, keeping records as directed.

Parent and Carer Engagement
Parent Communication: Regularly update parents on students’ achievements, progress, and challenges.
Parent/Carer Relations: Foster positive relationships with parents and carers to support students’ overall development.

Content Creation
Content Development: Develop literary and educational content for the website and enhance social media engagement.

Behaviour and Safety
Promote Positive Behaviour: Encourage good behaviour among students, promptly addressing conflicts and incidents as per organisational policies.

Policy Compliance: Adhere to child protection, equal opportunities, health and safety, security, confidentiality, data protection policies, and promptly report any concerns to the relevant authorities.

Qualifications
·        NCE holder or B.A in English Studies/English Language or any related field.
·        A genuine passion for working with students.
·        Resides in Lagos and in close proximity to the Island, Lekki and environs.
·        A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the Primary and / or Secondary school level.
·        Experience in Montessori and/or Jolly Phonics teaching of phonics reading is a valuable advantage.

Important things to note:
·  The commencement of the job is scheduled for September 2024.
·       Working on some Saturdays in the month is required.
·        Ownership of a personal, fully operational laptop is mandatory.
Proficiency in teaching across digital and traditional classroom settings.
