At Jordan Hill Creative Writing & Reading Workshop (CWRW), we are dedicated to igniting children’s passion for reading and enhancing their creative writing skills. Our centre offers a well-researched and engaging curriculum designed to boost self-confidence, creativity, and competence in English language skills. We believe that a deep appreciation for reading and a strong foundation in writing are crucial for a child’s academic and personal growth.
Position: Programme Manager
Location: Jordan Hill Creative Writing & Reading Workshop, Lagos.
Type: Full-Time, Hybrid
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Range: Between N200,000 and N250, 000 monthly.
Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Programme Manager to lead, develop, and oversee our creative writing and reading programs. This role requires a passionate individual who is enthusiastic about fostering a love for literature and creative expression in children. The Programme Manager will be responsible for ensuring the success of our educational programs, managing a team of tutors, and working closely with parents to meet each child’s needs.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Development: Design, implement, and continually improve creative writing and reading curricula. Ensure that all programmes align with our mission to cultivate a love for reading and enhance writing skills.
Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a team of enthusiastic and skilled tutors. Provide ongoing support, mentorship, and professional development to ensure high standards of teaching.
Class Management: Oversee the scheduling of in-person and online classes and manage the allocation of resources. Ensure that classes run smoothly and meet the learning objectives for each age group and skill level.
Parental Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents. Address their concerns, provide updates on their child’s progress, and offer advice on how they can support their child’s development at home.
Quality Assurance: Monitor the effectiveness of programmes through assessments and feedback. Evaluate teaching methods and make recommendations for improvements.
Marketing and Outreach: Develop and execute marketing strategies to attract new students. Represent Jordan Hill CWRW at community events, schools, and other outreach opportunities.
Administrative Duties: Handle administrative tasks related to programme management, including maintaining records, preparing reports, and managing budgets.
Collaborative Projects: Work with educational professionals and other organisations to develop new initiatives and partnerships that align with our goals.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Creative Writing, or a related field. A Master’s degree or additional qualifications in educational management is a plus.
Experience: Proven experience in programme management, particularly in an educational or creative environment. Experience in creative writing or reading programmes for children is highly desirable.
