Jordan Hill Bonjour Quest is an exciting online summer French programme for children aged 5 to 12 who want to enjoy French through games, songs, speaking activities, travel adventures, role play, food, family, colours, and everyday conversation.

In each Bonjour Quest mission, children learn useful French words and phrases through fun activities they can understand, practise, remember, and use.

Children can join alone, with a sibling, or with friends.

You may choose as many Missions in a Quest as you would like your child to go on.

Bonjour, My Name Is

Children learn how to greet people, introduce themselves, and say simple things about who they are.
In this mission, children practise basic French greetings and short introductions in a fun and confident way.

They will:
Say hello and goodbye in French
Introduce themselves
Say their name and age
Ask simple questions
Take part in a mini French greeting game

Best for children who are new to French or need confidence with first phrases.

 

Materials Needed for Bonjour, My Name Is

Children may need:

• A notebook or plain paper

• A pen or pencil

• A name card or small piece of paper to write their name

• A simple object they can use to introduce themselves, such as a favourite toy, book, pencil case, or picture

• Space to take part in a mini greeting game

French Colour Quest

Children explore colours in French through games, objects, drawing, and speaking challenges.
In this mission, children learn colour words and use them to describe things around them.

They will:
Learn French colour names
Find colourful objects at home
Describe items using colour words
Play colour-matching games
Create a simple colour picture or card

Best for children who enjoy drawing, matching games, bright colours, and visual learning.

 

Materials Needed for French Colour Quest

Children may need:

• Plain paper or card

• Coloured pencils, crayons, markers, or paint

• A few colourful objects from home, such as toys, books, clothes, cups, pencils, or bags

• Scissors and glue if they want to create a colour card or collage

• Any colour template provided before the session

Café Bonjour

Children enter a pretend French café and learn how to order simple food and drinks.
In this mission, children practise polite words, food vocabulary, and simple café role play.

They will:
Learn names of common food and drinks
Practise saying please and thank you
Order something from a pretend café
Play customer and waiter roles
Create a simple café menu

Best for children who enjoy food, pretend play, conversation, and role play.

 

Materials Needed for Café Bonjour

Children may need:

• Plain paper or card to create a simple café menu

• Pen, pencil, and coloured pencils or markers

• Toy food, food pictures, or simple food items from home, such as fruit, bread, biscuits, juice, or a cup

• A small plate, cup, or tray for role play if available

• Space to act as a customer or waiter during the café activity

My Family Tree in French

Children learn how to talk about family members in French.
In this mission, children create a simple family tree and practise saying who is in their family.

They will:
Learn words for family members
Create a simple family tree
Say simple sentences about family
Ask and answer family questions
Share their family tree with the tutor or group

Best for children who enjoy personal topics, drawing, family activities, and speaking about themselves.

 

Materials Needed for My Family Tree in French

Children may need:

• Plain paper or card

• Pen, pencil, and coloured pencils or markers

• A family photo, family drawing, or simple list of family members if the parent is comfortable with this

• Scissors and glue if they want to design a family tree

• Any family tree template provided before the session

My Dream Holiday in French

Children imagine a dream holiday and learn simple French words connected to travel and places.
In this mission, children practise saying where they would like to go and what they would like to do.

They will:
Learn simple travel words
Talk about places and holidays
Choose a dream destination
Create a simple holiday card or travel plan
Say a few holiday phrases in French

Best for children who enjoy travel, maps, countries, holidays, and imagination.

 

Materials Neeed for My Dream Holiday in French

Children may need:

• Plain paper or card

• Pen, pencil, and coloured pencils or markers

• A map, globe, travel picture, postcard, or holiday image if available

• A picture of a dream destination, printed or shown on screen

• Scissors and glue if they want to create a holiday card or travel plan

• Optional Canva access for children who want to design a simple travel card or holiday poster

Duration

Each Bonjour Quest mission takes place over two one-hour online sessions.

Your child will need to book two sessions for the chosen mission.

Session 1 focuses on learning new words, pronunciation, games, and guided practice.

Session 2 focuses on using the words in role play, speaking activities, and a final fun challenge.

Total learning time: 2 hours.

This Quest Mission is led by Ms Sophia.

Your Quest Guide will explain the mission, guide the activities, support your child during the session, and help them complete their summer challenge with confidence.

Each Quest Mission is delivered over two one-hour sessions, so your child or group will need two separate session slots for the chosen mission.

You may choose any two available slots that work best for your family or group.

For group bookings, all families in the group must agree on the two preferred session days and times before the booking form is completed.
