Now, we’re taking that vision further with a digital platform created to spotlight the imagination, experiences, and cultural pride of African children across the continent and diaspora.
AfroImagine exists to fill a gap: to offer a lasting space where children can write, be heard, and grow as storytellers. It is a place where young voices are encouraged to envision, express, and shape the Africa they dream of in their words.
Our objective is to amplify these voices, support their development as confident, original writers, and create a global stage where their stories can influence how the world sees Africa.
AfroImagine is more than a platform — it’s a literary movement grounded in culture, creativity, and the limitless potential of African children.
Through stories, poems, essays, and dreams of all shapes, we invite young writers to imagine, express, and shape the Africa they carry in their hearts, not the Africa that is often spoken about, but the Africa they wish to experience, hope for, and dream into existence.
It does not matter where your child lives – in Lagos, Nairobi, London, Johannesburg, Accra, or Atlanta; anywhere – AfroImagine is a home for their voice – a place to explore African identity, culture, and creativity through powerful, original writing. From everyday fiction to futuristic storytelling, from poetry to personal reflection, we celebrate work that honours Africa’s richness, diversity, and possibilities.
To nurture a new generation of African storytellers who write with purpose, confidence, and creativity, and whose stories help the world see Africa through their eyes.
AfroImagine is open to:

While we recognise that AI may assist with general research, idea generation and planning, submitted stories must be the student’s own original work.
