Jordan Hill Mic Masters is an exciting online summer speaking programme for children aged 5 to 12 who want to become clearer, braver, and more confident communicators.

In each Mic Masters mission, children take part in fun speaking challenges, role play, voice activities, confidence games, presentations, and real-life communication tasks.

Children can join alone, with a sibling, or with friends.

The Voice Actor Studio

Children discover how voice actors use expression, tone, emotion, and character voices to bring words to life.
In this mission, children practise reading and speaking with energy, feeling, and confidence.

They will:

Read short scripts dramatically
Create character voices
Explore emotions through speaking
Practise pronunciation and expression
Perform a mini voice-acting challenge

Best for children who enjoy cartoons, animated films, acting, stories, funny voices, and performance.

Materials Needed for The Voice Actor Studio

Children may need:

• A short script or reading passage

• Earphones or headphones

• A quiet space for voice practice

• A notebook for character voice ideas

The Confidence Catwalk

Children learn how to carry themselves with confidence and make a strong first impression.
This mission focuses on posture, gestures, eye contact, facial expression, and calm confidence when speaking.

They will:
Practise confident posture
Use gestures effectively
Improve eye contact
Take part in confidence challenges
Practise walking, standing, and speaking with poise

Best for children who feel shy, nervous, or unsure when speaking in front of others.

Materials Needed for The Confidence Catwalk

Children may need:

• A little space to stand and move

• A notebook for confidence notes

• A mirror if available

• Comfortable clothing for simple posture and movement activities

Pitch It Like a Pro

Children learn how to present an idea clearly and persuade an audience.
In this mission, children create an idea, explain why it matters, give reasons, and answer questions confidently.

They will:
Create an idea, product, invention, or plan
Explain the idea clearly
Give reasons to support their pitch
Practise persuasive speaking
Answer audience questions

Best for children who enjoy big ideas, inventions, business ideas, problem-solving, and convincing others.

Materials Needed for Pitch It Like a Pro

Children may need:

• A notebook or plain paper

• A pen or pencil

• A simple idea, product, invention, or plan to pitch

• Optional Canva access for creating a simple visual idea

Speak Up Without Being Rude

Children learn how to express themselves clearly, politely, and confidently in everyday situations.
This mission helps children speak up for themselves while still showing respect for others.

They will:
Practise asking for help politely
Handle difficult conversations
Disagree respectfully
Use calm and confident language
Take part in real-life role-play scenarios

Best for children who need help expressing their feelings, asking questions, setting boundaries, or speaking confidently without sounding rude.

Materials Needed for Speak Up Without Being Rude

Children may need:

• A notebook or plain paper

• A pen or pencil

• A quiet space for role play

• Simple real life examples they may want to practise, such as asking for help, disagreeing politely, or explaining how they feel

The Show Host Challenge

Children become mini show hosts and learn how to lead conversations naturally and confidently.
In this mission, children practise welcoming guests, asking questions, introducing topics, and keeping a conversation going.

They will:
Host a mini talk show
Introduce guests or speakers
Ask interesting questions
Lead a short discussion
Practise speaking naturally in front of others

Best for children who enjoy interviews, presenting, conversations, performance, and being in front of an audience.

Materials Needed for The Show Host Challenge

Children may need:

• A notebook or plain paper

• A pen or pencil

• A quiet space for hosting practice

• A small object, picture, book, or topic to introduce

• Optional Canva access for creating a simple show card or guest card

Duration

Each Mic Masters mission takes place over two one-hour online sessions.

Your child will need to book two sessions for the chosen mission.

Session 1 focuses on confidence warm-ups, speaking practice, and guided activities.

Session 2 focuses on improving delivery, receiving feedback, and completing the final showcase activity.

Total learning time: 2 hours.

Meet Your Quest Guide

This Quest Mission is led by Ms Motunrayo.

Your Quest Guide will explain the mission, guide the activities, support your child during the session, and help them complete their summer challenge with confidence.
