Adeola Eze

Adeola Eze is an English educator, literacy specialist, and children’s writing mentor with over twenty-seven years of experience in teaching, educational leadership, and literacy development across Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

She holds a BA in English Studies and an MA in English Literature with distinction and is currently a PhD researcher whose work explores reading, writing, cultural memory, and how young readers develop deep and sustained understanding through texts.

Adeola is a co-founder of Jordan Hill Creative Writing & Reading Workshop, a literacy initiative established to nurture confident readers and imaginative writers. Through this work, she has mentored young writers to publication and supported children in developing clarity, confidence, and discipline in their use of language.

Her professional experience spans nursery, primary, and secondary education. She has worked as a class teacher at the nursery and primary levels and taught English at upper primary and secondary levels in leading schools, including Greensprings School, Lagos and Corona School, Lekki. In addition to her classroom teaching, she has held senior leadership roles across a range of educational settings, including Head of School at New Fountain Montessori School, Amuwo Odofin; Acting Literacy Team Lead at Greensprings School; School Manager at Buttercups School, Oniru; and Learning Director at Discovery House Montessori School, Lekki.

In addition to her work in Nigeria, Adeola has provided targeted reading intervention for both lower and upper primary pupils in the United Kingdom through the National Tutoring Programme. She is a recipient of the National English Teacher of the Year award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to English teaching.

She is also an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, United Kingdom, and has experience teaching English Language and English Literature at undergraduate and postgraduate levels within the UK university system. This experience brings a research-informed perspective to her teaching and a deep understanding of how strong literacy foundations develop into academic excellence.

Adeola’s work with children and young people sits at the intersection of rigorous literacy instruction and creative expression. Her teaching is known for its high standards, warmth, and her ability to stretch confident learners while building confidence and independence. Through Jordan Hill Creative Writing & Reading Workshop, she continues to advocate for purposeful literacy education that equips learners not only to read and write well, but also to think clearly and communicate with confidence.
