Exam Preparation Class for Pupils in Years 4–6

New sessions begin on Monday, 1 September 2025.

Give Your Child the Best Possible Start and the Confidence to Succeed

The school years fly by.
One moment, your child is learning their times tables… and before you know it, they’re facing 11+ exams, Common Entrance tests, independent school assessments, or KS2 SATs.

For many children, these tests decide which school they’ll attend, what opportunities they’ll have, and how confident they feel moving forward.
The earlier they start preparing, the stronger their foundation, skills, and self-belief will be.

That’s why we created the Jordan Hill English & Math Booster Programme with two tailored tracks to meet your child exactly where they are.

What We Cover

English & Verbal Reasoning:

  • Reading comprehension, inference & analysis

  • Skimming, annotating, planning and structured responses

  • Creative and formal writing mastery

  • Grammar, punctuation & vocabulary building

  • Verbal reasoning skills – logic-based vocabulary, sequencing, codes, analogies, and word patterns

Mathematics & Non-Verbal Reasoning:

  • Number fluency, arithmetic & operations

  • Fractions, decimals, percentages, algebra & geometry

  • Exam-style reasoning and word problem-solving

  • Strategic thinking: estimation, logic, and flexible reasoning

  • Non-verbal reasoning – pattern recognition, spatial awareness, and problem-solving with shapes and sequences

Two Class Levels

  1. Early Prep Track — Years 4 & 5

Build a strong foundation and get ahead of the competition.

This track supports Upper Key Stage 2 students who are just beginning their exam journey.
We focus on skill-building, confidence, and exam familiarity without pressure or cramming.

Your child will:
• Strengthen core skills in reading, writing, and mathematics
• Learn how to approach problems strategically, not just recall facts
• Build vocabulary, comprehension, and early reasoning skills
• Develop confidence in speaking, questioning, and working collaboratively

Schedule: September – June | 1 hour per subject/week (English & Maths)
Format: Live online lessons + guided homework
Group Size: Small, focused groups for maximum attention

Perfect for families who want their child ahead of the curve before exam year.

Your child will:
• Master exam techniques for Common Entrance, independent school tests, and KS2 SATs
• Practise timed papers and develop test-taking resilience
• Deepen their critical thinking and multi-step reasoning
• Receive regular feedback to close skill gaps quickly

Schedule: September – June | 1 hour per subject/week (English & Math)
Format: Live online lessons + exam-style assignments

Ideal for students ready to maximise performance before exam season.

Register for Exam Year – Currently in Year 6

Imagine the Difference

Year 6: Your child walks into their exam calm, confident, and ready.
They can decode any reading passage, solve tricky maths problems, and write with clarity and flair.

Even earlier: If they start in Year 4 or Year 5, they’ve already spent months and even years sharpening their skills and learning how to think like a top-performing student. By the time exams arrive, they’re ahead.

Digital Learning Platforms

Live lessons are held on Zoom.

Children are engaged on the Google Classroom and Seesaw E-learning platforms for class activities and offline activities.

Why Students Fall Behind

Even strong students can struggle when exams approach, and not because they lack ability, but because they lack the tools, strategies, or confidence to perform under pressure.

Common reading challenges we tackle:

  • Understanding unfamiliar vocabulary and author intent
  • Interpreting tone, structure, or figurative language
  • Making inferences and writing clear, text-based responses

Common maths challenges we address:

  • Mastering mathematical vocabulary and mental arithmetic
  • Solving word problems under timed conditions
  • Breaking down multi-step reasoning with confidence
