CHRISTMAS GIFT

Clive the clumsy elf was putting the last toy into the huge pile that all of Santa’s elves had been busy creating. As he reached up to the top, he slipped and fell into the pile, and all the toys went crashing down and broke against the floor. Santa yelled, “Oh, no! Now, there will neither be gift nor Christmas for us.”

Clumsy Clive replied, “I didn’t do that on purpose Santa.”

I know, but how would we get it fixed before tomorrow night?” asked Santa.

‘That’s true, but I don’t have any idea right now. Christmas is going to be messed up,” said Clive.

Santa in anger said to Clive, “You are fired!”

Clive walked away, depressed.

After that, all the elves gathered and decided to work as a team so they could get the job done faster. They finished and delivered presents to every child in Africa.

Clive heard of how the other elves worked to fix and deliver the gifts, but soon he realised; they were still behind because so many gifts were remaining. So, Clive, working all alone, took all the gifts and delivered them to the children in Russia and other countries of the world. When Santa heard, he decided to make more gifts and give to all the orphans in the world. Clive’s sacrifice and determination inspired them all.

Santa decided to take Clive back, and everyone was excited but little did they know that there was one more gift left to be given to someone special. Santa suddenly handed out the gift to Clive and he was so surprised and happy. Everyone heard all of Clive’s work and sacrifice, and he became so famous. Clive decided to start his own office using fame to his advantage. But Santa and the other elves were sad he was going to leave them.

Seeing the sadness his news brought to the other elves and Santa, Clive decided to stay and work with Santa instead. There was dancing and singing with lots of shouting as well. Everyone felt content, and although they had no gifts left for themselves, they had the most important thing, each other.
