Fashion is a popular style, especially in clothing, footwear, life style accessories and make up. Fashion can become the prevailing style in behavior or manifest the newest creation of designers or people.

New-York is the country fashion was discovered.  Hats, gloves and similar accessories were mostly made ready to wear and sold in shops.

Fashion houses run by individual designers started in the 19^th century with Charles Frederick Worth, who from 1858 was the first designer to have his label sewn into the garments that he created.

Do you know that fashion in 1900s had people covered up more than we do today? Then, women and girls never wore trousers; they hid their legs in long dresses or skirts. Men and boys often kept their clothes, jackets and ties on even in hot weather. People from every social class usually wore hats when they were outside. Humans first wore clothes in 170,000 years ago.

But today, fashion has grown widely and everybody wears different styles and designs.

Fashion World is Ebinemi Ebitonmor’s submission for the Jordan Hill Writing Challenge for February with a focus on information texts. Ebinemi is an eight-year-old pupil of Chrisland School, Lekki, Lagos.
