Ada looked up at the sky and wished it would rain something fun like marshmallows instead of cold wet rain drops. Suddenly, she felt a soft plop on her heard. She looked up and she couldn’t believe her eyes. It was rain drops. She was very excited. “It’s playtime in the rain!”
Ada, an adventurous seven-year-old girl who loved to play and dance, hopped with joy as the rain drops came down gently on her, at first. As the rain became heavier, she jumped in to puddles of muddy water that had started to gather on the ground around the drive way of her parent’s house. Splash! Plop! Splash! Plop! Ada jumped.
“Oh! This is so much fun! Even if it’s not marshmallows.” she thought to herself. She had on a short green dress and a pair of flat white sandals. She soaked up her sandals in the muddy puddles of water. She was truly enjoying herself.
“Ada! Ada, what have you done!” her mum shouted as she saw her from the front yard.
“Nothing mum, just having fun.” Ada replied.
“Your clothes and sandals are all messed up!” her mum exclaimed. “You need to come inside now. I will have to dry up your clothes and sandals immediately.”
At that moment, Ada dashed into the house, changed her cloths and sat to watch television. Afterwards, Ada took some hot tea with her sixteen- year-old brother Josh. Josh had just returned home from college and was very glad to see his little playful sister.
She hugged him with joy and excitement, while she drank her hot tea.
Josh asked “What happened Ada? Why did mum shout at you?”
“Never mind Josh. We will talk about that later. Mum is cooking soup right now”
“Yum! Soup!” Josh felt very pleased. Josh loved his mum’s hot soup.
“This soup is yummy.” said Josh.
They both ate their soups with fufu happily and dashed out to play some more in the puddles.
